Terms
Last updated: October 5, 2026.
Plain language
These terms are an agreement between you and Nova Net Worth LLC (“Nova,” “we,” “us”). Nova is a subscription net worth tracker. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Nova.
Who can use Nova
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Nova is offered only to residents of the United States. Don’t use it from a place where using it would be against the law.
- You may only connect financial accounts that you own or are authorized to access.
Your account
- Give us accurate sign-up information and keep it current.
- Keep your login secure and don’t share it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including through any API token you create or any app or AI assistant you connect to it. Revoke a token as soon as you no longer need it.
- If you invite someone to an entity, they act under the role you give them, and you are responsible for choosing who to invite.
- Tell us right away at hello@novanetworth.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
Not financial advice
Nova is an educational tool. Nothing on this site or in the Nova product is investment, tax, or legal advice. Nova is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax preparer, or law firm, and using Nova does not create a fiduciary or advisory relationship between you and us. Any numbers, suggestions, or examples shown are illustrative. Consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. Nova proposes; you decide. You are responsible for the financial decisions you make.
AI explanations
Nova’s suggestions are computed by Nova’s own rules. When you ask Nova to explain one, a third-party AI model (currently OpenAI) writes the plain-English explanation. AI explanations can be incomplete or wrong, even when the underlying numbers are right. Treat them as a starting point, check them against your own records, and don’t rely on them as advice. The Privacy Policy lists what is sent to the AI provider.
Data accuracy and valuations
Nova shows information from your connected institutions and from third-party data and pricing sources, plus estimates Nova calculates. Balances update when your accounts sync, and asset valuations (such as home, vehicle, crypto, metals, and collectible estimates) are refreshed periodically, not in real time. Any of this can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and an estimated value is not an appraisal or an offer to buy or sell. Check important numbers against the original source before you act on them.
Subscriptions, trials, and cancellation
- Nova is a paid subscription. The price and billing interval are shown before you check out.
- New subscribers get a 14-day free trial, one per account. A card is required to start the trial, but you won’t be charged until it ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged.
- After the trial, your subscription renews automatically at the price and interval you chose, and your card is charged at the start of each period, until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from Billing in your Nova account. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you keep access until then. Deleting your account cancels your subscription right away, and access ends when the account is deleted.
- Payments are not refundable for partial periods, except for the prorated credit or charge Stripe applies when you switch plans, the refund described under Suspension and termination, or where the law requires otherwise.
- We’ll give you notice of any price change before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Founding-member price. If you start a free trial or subscription by December 3, 2026 (end of day, Central Time), we won’t raise your price for as long as your subscription stays active, whether you pay monthly or annually, including if you switch between the two. Sign-ups in the hour after that cutoff count too. A card payment that fails and is retried doesn’t end your subscription. If your subscription ends (you cancel, or it ends after failed payments), this no longer applies, and a new subscription started after December 3, 2026 is billed at the price in effect then. Complimentary and staff accounts aren’t covered. This doesn’t limit taxes or changes required by law.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
Third-party services
Nova relies on other companies to work. When you connect an account, you authorize Nova and these providers to access and retrieve your account information on your behalf, and their own terms and privacy policies also apply:
- Plaid connects bank, card, loan, and investment accounts. See the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- SnapTrade connects some brokerage accounts. See SnapTrade’s terms and privacy policy.
- Stripe processes payments. See Stripe’s consumer terms and privacy policy.
We don’t control these services and aren’t responsible for their outages, errors, or changes. You can disconnect an account in Nova at any time.
Your data
Your financial data stays yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display it only to run Nova for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Nova’s software, design, and content belong to us, and these terms don’t give you any rights in them beyond using Nova as offered.
Acceptable use
Don’t:
- scrape or automate requests beyond reasonable rates, or try to get around rate limits;
- try to break, probe, or bypass authentication or security controls, except through good-faith reporting as described on our Security page;
- access another person’s data, connect accounts you don’t own or control, or submit other people’s email addresses without their permission;
- use Nova for anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful, or upload malicious code;
- resell or rent access to Nova.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Nova and delete your account at any time from your account menu. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or Nova at risk, or that we are required by law to close. When practical we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account without cause, or stop offering Nova, we’ll refund the unused part of any prepaid period. What happens to your data after an account is closed is described in the retention section of the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) continue after termination.
No warranties
Nova is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Nova will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its data, valuations, or explanations will be accurate or complete. Some states don’t allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Nova Net Worth LLC’s total liability to you for any claim related to Nova is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or investment losses, even if we were told they were possible. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, if a third party brings a claim against Nova because you broke these terms, broke the law, or misused Nova, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. This doesn’t apply to claims caused by our own fault.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live. If you have a problem, please email us first; most issues can be fixed without a formal dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Nova evolves. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Nova after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you don’t, you can cancel and delete your account before then.
General
- Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Nova about Nova and replace any earlier ones.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited as little as needed and the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can’t transfer these terms or your account to someone else without our permission. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, and these terms will still protect you.
- Notices. We may send notices to the email address on your account. You can send notices to us at the address below.
